going green

In an effort to reduce the environmental impact of hosting a conference, the GeoWeb organizers with our venue, Mrecycle.giforris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue and our hotel, the Delta Vancouver Suites are taking the necessary steps to make the GeoWeb Conference, a more green and sustainable conference. It is our wish that our attendees, presenters, sponsors and exhibitors also participate in this great environmental initiative. We have encouraged our sponsors to consider recycled promotional and paper products. We are encouraging those of you that are attending to participate by recycling, carbon offsetting your travel, carpooling, use of hybrid vehicles, turning off lights and walking rather than driving whenever possible. Remember the three Rs-reduce, reuse and recycle!

GeoWeb Organizers Initiatives

  • The use of paperless technology through e-mail and the GeoWeb website for promotion
  • All GeoWeb conference paper documents will be printed on recycled paper
  • The ability to receive speaker notes and handouts online
  • Plastic name badges will be recycled
  • Recycling bins for aluminum cans, plastic bottles, glass and paper around the conference area

Both the Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue and the Delta Vancouver Suites have provided additional information about their green initiatives.

We hope that you will support us in this environmental and cost saving initiative. This will help reduce our carbon footprint and in our effort to be carbon neutral.
